**TEMP TO HIRE CONTRACTOR POSITION** This position provides control systems’ technical support for process controls engineering. Performs variety of skilled support duties involved in installation, maintenance, testing, troubleshooting, and repair of control systems hardware and software encompassed primarily in DCS (distributed control systems), PLCs (programmable logic controllers), safety instrument systems (SIS), HMI (human machine interface), and alarm management.  Ensures adherence to established guidelines, policies, procedures, and applicable governmental regulations. Essential Job Functions This is a multi-graded position where an employee may progress as training and abilities increase. Technicians are expected to perform the duties listed below with increasing levels of proficiency. •    Troubleshoots, inspects and repairs equipment in accordance with manufacturer specifications; stays current on standards for mechanical equipment used •    Works with reliability engineering and other departments as necessary •    Provides technical assurance and support to Information Technology (IT) group on issues impacting control systems network such as, but not limited to, performance, system security, operating system and system administration interfaces. •    Prepares and maintains documentation on plant control systems. •    Works with Operations and Maintenance for needed system bypass’s during testing or maintenance activities. •    Supports projects through technical contribution to specifications, hardware and software design, testing, and commissioning. •    Requests material from warehouse for assigned work following Company procedures; performs or assists in performing inspections of delivered materials, parts and equipment when necessary •    Performs and assists in installation, modification and inspection work when applicable •    Acts as team leader to other technicians as required, assists team members as appropriate •    Coordinates and schedules repairs and projects with operations, planning and contractor personnel •    Assists with maintenance needs during pre-commissioning, commissioning, construction, and turn-arounds as directed •    Keeps equipment and tools organized and in good working condition; keeps work area clean •    Tracks maintenance activities utilizing computerized maintenance system; assists in establishing and maintaining filing systems •    Maintains maintenance documents including, but not limited to, equipment numbers, maintenance performed and equipment condition; updates document control as required •    Communicates spare part needs; assists in establishing inventory levels necessary for equipment and assets in assigned area/s; provides specifications to inventory control personnel as requested •    Trains regularly on all Federal, state and local environmental regulations, requirements and guidelines including, but not limited to, RCRA requirements; follows and adheres to all guidelines, regulations, and requirements •    Abides by all safety procedures and practices applicable to location and position; participates in appropriate safety training; demonstrates commitment to and support of EHSS principles and values; champions safety at all times; participates in and/or leads safety teams or projects as appropriate •    Performs other duties assigned by management that generally fall within the expected scope of this position Nothing in this job description restricts management’s right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time.  This description reflects management’s assignment of essential functions. It does not proscribe or restrict the tasks that may be assigned.   Experience & KSA’s Required •    Experience in plant operations preferred  •    Minimum of 3 to 5 years’ experience in control systems’ technical support in refining or petrochemical industry. •    Ability to read, interpret and follow written job instructions and directions •    Ability to read, interpret and follow manuals and other regulatory documents as applicable •    Ability to read and understand safety procedures, including OSHA standards and regulations •    Experience maintaining a Foxboro DCS (5 years minimum). •    Experience with Triconex/Trident v2.2, Triconex/Tricon v11.2 systems (3-5 years minimum). •    Experience with Display builder and Graphics Builder/manager. •    Experience with Allen Bradley and Siemens PLC. •    Experience with Fiber Optic cables, Serial data and analog to digital conversions. •    Process Control Loop tuning. •    Must be able to work varying and/or rotating shifts and call outs. •    Experience working with Federal, state and local environmental regulations including RCRA •    Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and follow through on assignments •    Good computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite; ability to use database systems and other programs and applications used by this position and at Company •    Fluent in English language including reading, writing and speaking; ability to read and write at a minimum of high school level; ability to clearly communicate to all levels in organization Education Requirement •    High School Diploma or GED required •    Bachelor’s degree preferred in instrumentation or electrical technology •    10 years’ extensive hands-on experience with DCS/PLC schooling or classroom training in lieu of Bachelor’s Degree.
