MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Position Summary: The Ultrasound Technologists, plans, directs, and supervises all technical aspects of all ultrasound examinations and/or vascular examinations.  * Enhances professional growth and development through the participation in educational programs, staff meetings, in services/workshops and successful completion and maintenance of required certification of specialty areas. *  Maintains ultrasound service in accordance with the guidelines established by the imaging department, and performs diagnostic examination according to pre-determined protocols as set forth in the manufacturer’s operational manuals. *  Responsible for the proper utilization existing equipment and reporting repair problems promptly to the ultrasound supervisor. *  Maintains proper records and prepares reports as needed. *  Maintains proper level of films and supplies. *  Must be able to work schedule which includes “on call” status and “call back” situations. * Follows departmental directives in accordance with job functions. * Performs and/or participates in the Imaging services Process Improvement, Quality Assurance, Quality Control and MQSA activities as may be required. * Conforms, performs and/or participates in all mandated and/or voluntary programs of the Imaging services to comply with the provisions of TJC, DHS, and any regulatory agency requirements. * Demonstrates knowledge of age specific care, including but not limited to, identifying the need for additional safety measures, physiological normal values/readings; and assessing skin integrity, behavior, motor skills and/or activities that place patients at risk as well as communicates effectively in a clear, concise, understandable manner.  Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center is an equal opportunity employer committed to a diverse and inclusive workforce. JOB QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Education: * Graduate of an accredited ultrasound training program.   Preferred Education: * N/A Minimum Work Experience and Qualifications: * Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. * Must be able to work in a union environment. * 1 year of clinical experience in ultrasound imaging preferred. Preferred Work Experience and Qualifications: * N/A Required Licensure, Certification, Registration or Designation: * American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography Certification (ARDMS) or RVT, or eligibility to take the ARDMS and pass exam within six (6) months of hire date.      * Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA) * Valid Los Angeles County Fire Card (required within 30 days of hire) * Assault Response Competency (ARC) (required within 30 days of hire) Status: Temporary Full Time (90 days, available for extension) Shift: Nights Hours: 8hrs Weekly/Bi-Weekly Hours: 40hrs/80hrs FTE: 1.0
