This is a practical, hands-on role supporting the delivery of high-quality temporary and emergency accommodation across Stevenage. As a Temporary Accommodation Assistant, you will be responsible for the upkeep and cleanliness of communal areas, the clearance, cleanliness and preparation of void properties, and carrying out minor repairs to ensure accommodation is safe and ready for new residents.
You will work closely with the Temporary Accommodation Officers to complete fire alarm tests, health, and safety checks, support vulnerable households, and respond to a wide range of on-site issues. The role also includes important administrative duties such as maintaining logs, arranging access for contractors, and ensuring proper documentation of incidents or concerns.
This is a varied and rewarding role suited to someone who enjoys practical tasks, interacting with residents, and making a direct impact on people’s living environments. You will play a key part in helping vulnerable individuals and families feel safe and supported during difficult times in their lives.
