Temporary Accommodation Officer (2 x 37 hours)
The post requires a Level 4 or equivalent qualification, or relevant equivalent level of experience.
Hull City Council is seeking two committed and proactive individuals to join our Housing Options Team as a Temporary Accommodation Officer.
The role will be to assess housing needs, develop and implement personalised action plans, and coordinate support to help households move on from temporary accommodation into suitable long term accommodation. There is a strong focus on minimising the time households spend in temporary accommodation.
This role involves a combination of office-based working, home working, and outreach work including visits to clients in their homes, ensuring a flexible approach to service delivery. Access to a vehicle and a valid driving licence is also essential.

TO DO THIS YOU WILL NEED:

  • An expert, up to date knowledge of relevant legislation and caselaw, policies, procedures, trends and wider Housing Access pressures and priorities in order to make decisions on more complex cases
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, and be able to demonstrate empathy, patience, and the ability to work in a solution-focused way with a diverse range of clients.
  • To be adaptable and able to manage a busy caseload, making decisions under pressure while balancing competing priorities.
  • To be able to work independently, often in challenging situations, using your initiative to ensure the best possible outcomes for the clients you support.
For more information and an informal discussion about this role, please contact Adam Parkinson by email at Adam.parkinson2@hullcc.gov.uk
Please ensure that your application demonstrates how you meet the essential criteria against the person specification as listed in the job description.
