Responsibilities

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Temporary Accommodation Team, supporting some of the most vulnerable people in our community. As a Temporary Accommodation Support Officer, you will be at the frontline of delivering high-quality housing management and support services to individuals and families living in emergency and temporary accommodation.
You’ll play a vital role in helping residents sustain their accommodation, access support, and work towards independent living. This is a varied, hands-on role that requires empathy, resilience, and strong interpersonal skills, as well as a good understanding of safeguarding, housing law, and partnership working.

Main Duties

  • Provide tailored housing management and support to residents living in emergency and temporary accommodation.
  • Promote independent living and wellbeing, identifying residents’ needs and referring to appropriate support services.
  • Advise residents on rent, service charges, and benefit entitlements, assisting with claims where needed.
  • Respond to and manage anti-social behaviour and safeguarding concerns, following internal and external procedures.
  • Complete property viewings, lettings, and move-ins, ensuring residents understand their rights and responsibilities.
  • Carry out regular health, safety, and risk assessments in communal areas and respond to building-related emergencies.
  • Maintain accurate records and case notes, contributing to team reviews and service development projects.
  • Liaise with a wide range of internal teams and external partners to deliver coordinated, resident-focused support.
  • Actively support residents with move-on arrangements and promote health, education, and wellbeing opportunities.
  • Represent the service in legal proceedings, court hearings, case conferences, and safeguarding meetings as required.
