We are now looking for a suitable person to fill the following position in the School of Nursing and Health Sciences: Major Duties and Responsibilities The appointee will be responsible mainly for the following: · Maintaining and optimising existing AI applications to ensure system stability, performance, reliability and user satisfaction. This includes troubleshooting, updates and enhancements to applications developed with Unity for 3D/VR immersive simulations, supported by AWS cloud services and MongoDB backend; · assisting academic colleagues in research and development work on AI-enhanced educational tools and simulations, particularly for nursing and health sciences training. This includes integration and technical support for large language models and AI platforms such as ChatGPT and Minimax; · providing technical support for deployment, testing, user training and maintenance of AI-powered apps used in teaching, learning and research activities; · managing databases, cloud infrastructure and data security; ensuring compliance with university IT policies and data protection requirements; · documenting technical processes, preparing reports and contributing to project documentation and research outputs as required; and · performing any other duties as assigned by the supervisor(s). Candidates Candidates should possess the following qualifications, experience and competence: · a recognised bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering or a closely related discipline. Higher qualification or relevant professional certifications (e.g. AWS Certified, Unity Certified Developer) is an advantage; · strong hands-on proficiency and experience in maintaining and developing applications using Unity, AWS cloud services, MongoDB and integrating with AI/LLM platforms including ChatGPT and Minimax; · experience in supporting IT/AI projects in higher education, EdTech, research or healthcare simulation environments is highly desirable; · good analytical, problem-solving and organisational skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team; · excellent communication skills in English and Chinese (Cantonese is highly desirable). Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users is essential; · a proactive, service-oriented and responsible working attitude with strong commitment to supporting teaching, learning and research initiatives; and · knowledge of additional technologies such as VR/AR development, Node.js, computer vision (e.g. YOLO) or motion capture systems would be an added advantage.
