Your Role in Our Journey Are you a wine lover with an insatiable appetite for learning more about as many wine grapes, regions and styles as possible? If so, this opportunity with The Wine Enthusiast magazine's Tasting Department, based at the company’s headquarters in Valhalla, NY, might be perfect for you! The focus will be on helping to catalog and organize the hundreds of wines that we receive each month, with an opportunity to aid in flighting and pouring wines for our reviewers. The primary responsibility of this position is to assist the tasting department with wine submissions and special projects. What You'll Be Uncorking Key Responsibilities: Data entry of wines into database. Maintain organization of wines and boxes. Follow up with submitters to obtain missing information. Assist Tasting Coordinators with various projects which can include the set up and pouring of wine flights for reviewers. The Perfect Blend (What You Bring to the Table) Qualifications: Must have positive, go-getter, team building mentality. Must be able to lift 40lbs and be comfortable with moving boxes daily. Must have existing wine knowledge and desire to learn more. Must be detail oriented and be comfortable with large amounts of data entry/organizational tasks. The ability to proactively prioritize, manage and complete multiple projects simultaneously within time constraints and with strong attention to detail. Must be able to work from Valhalla office. 1-2 years professional experience. Proven ability to work independently, demonstrating self-initiative and autonomy. Strong problem-solving abilities. Preferred Qualifications: Familiarity with Excel and comfortable with learning how to use a proprietary database. Wine retail, WSET/CMS or basic wine knowledge.
