QUALIFICATIONS

  • A Level 8 Degree (as recognised on the National Framework of Qualifications or equivalent), in Agricultural Science, Equine Science or other relevant equine related degree at this level.
  • Indebt experience of programme Development & Accreditation.
  • Relevant post graduate qualification in teaching methodologies, blended learning, problem based learning, etc.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS

  • In depth Knowledge and experience of the equine industry.
  • Technically up to date in the areas of equine nutrition, breeding, stud management, horse welfare, business management and environmental best practice.
  • Detailed knowledge and experience with QQI Statutory Guidelines, policies and higher education programme validation.
  • Strong communication and experience collaborating with stakeholders.
  • Excellent writing skills, with a strong emphasis on report writing and proficiency in computer applications.
  • Proactive work and project organisation with strong drive and initiative.
  • Excellent analysis, problem solving skills and decision support abilities.
  • Project management leadership
  • Past experience with QQI validation processes
Responsibilities
  • Completing the QQI Programme Validation Manual for Programmes of HET and Apprenticeships (FET and HET) (Edition 3, 2018) for a Level 7 Assistant Stud Manager Apprenticeship (3 years duration).
  • Preparing associated QQI documents (e.g., application form, gap analysis) to support the validation manual.
  • Designing and drafting a range of supporting documents for QQI Validation, such as the Apprentice Handbook, Employer Handbook, Employer Criteria, and assessment templates
