ST. ALBERT ADULT LEARNING CENTRE

Our School Board is host to and celebrates diverse cultures and is comprised of dedicated staff committed to high quality education that inspires and promotes lifelong learning. The Board is currently seeking a Temporary Clinical Instructor for the Personal Support Worker Program to join our dynamic team.
The Clinical Instructor is responsible for supervising and supporting Personal Support Worker (PSW) students during facility and community placements. They are responsible for instructing, monitoring student activity and keeping current anecdotal records on student progress. The Instructor ensures that students follow proper safety procedures and maintain appropriate discretion and confidentiality.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATION

  • Current certificate of registration and a member in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Registered Practical Nurse
  • Registered Practical Nurse Diploma

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • 2 years of recent related working experience

REQUIREMENTS

  • Strong knowledge of Personal Health Information Protection Act
  • Strong knowledge of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act
  • Experience instructing adults is an asset
  • Demonstrated proficiency with word processing software, Internet, and email
  • Ability to provide regular attendance
  • Self starter and able to work under minimal supervision
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Excellent skills in communication and group dynamics
  • Ability to effectively communicate and relate to people tactfully, diplomatically and professionally at all times is essential
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle
