JOB SUMMARY

  • The Draper is a key member of the Company’s Costume Shop team reporting to the Costume Coordinator/Designer
  • Makes patterns for original designs, cuts fabric from patterns, stitches pieces together
  • Attends fittings to ensure accuracy of fit, pins garments, makes notes of alterations needed
  • Completes alterations needed and completes garments to finished wearable state

WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW

This role is a part-time, temporary role lasting from September 2025 - April 2026 on an as needed basis. Peak weeks leading up to a show will be full-time and may involve overtime, while other times hours will be minimal. This role is onsite based out of the Costume Shop.

Responsibilities

Will operate as a key member of the wardrobe team for all musical theatre and opera productions for the College of Music. This will include crafting, altering, sewing, fitting and improvising all phases of wardrobe and costume needs for the productions.
