PATIENT EXPERIENCE

Family Resource Facilitators assist and support patients, families, staff, students and community partners by connecting them with resources, such as personalized health-related literature; information on internal and/or community resources, support and problem-solving tools and access to peer support. Family Resource Facilitators all have lived experience defined as first-hand experience in healthcare either as a patient and/or caregiver.
Temporary Part-Time
Rate of pay: $27.54 per hour - $34.42 per hour
Duration: Until August 2026
Hours: Up to 22.0 hours per week

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Current enrolment in a College/University Health or Social Sciences program, as acceptable by the hospital
  • Minimum two (2) years recent, related experience including one (1) year of lived experience as a paediatric inpatient within the past 5 years, or as a caregiver of a paediatric inpatient
  • Excellent emotional intelligence skills
  • Demonstrated excellent communication (written and verbal), with an ability to connect with a wide range of patients, families, Residents and staff
  • Demonstrated experience working with diverse populations
  • Demonstrated practice and commitment to the principles of patient and family centered care
