Summary: A Temporary FT position is available for a Registered Nurse who is able to function capably in the Inpatient Unit. This position is responsible for comprehensive nursing care as established by the standards of nursing practice of the College of Nurses of Ontario and according to the policies and procedure as set out by HWMH.

QUALIFICATIONS:

 Registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
 One year recent medical/surgical nursing experience required.
 Membership in RNAO and CNA is an asset.
 Current BCLS required; ACLS preferred or willingness to obtain.
 Certifications in Arrhythmia and Defibrillation or willingness to obtain.
 Certification in Gentle Persuasive Approaches (GPA) an asset.
 Certification in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention an asset.
 Demonstrated excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
 Proven Organizational and critical thinking skills.
 Computer skills, including knowledge of Meditech required.
 Ability to function as an effective inter-professional team member.
 Evidence of ongoing professional development in nursing.
 Ability to assume a leadership/charge role.
 Demonstrates good assessment and time management skills.
 Demonstrates a commitment to continuing education and willingness to actively participate in department educational activities.
 Demonstrated satisfactory work performance and attendance history
 Demonstrates a commitment to a healthy and safe workplace for self and others
