Temporary Kennel Assistant Job
We are currently looking for someone to join our small team at Little Lane Dog Retreat in Tollerton, Nottingham.
The ideal candidate will share our dedication to providing great care for the dogs boarding with us. Having had experience previously working with dogs or had training in Animal Care would be an advantage.
At our dog hotel we take our guests out four times a day. This can be up to eight rooms per team member. The candidate will be confident to exercise up to four dogs at once (when safe to do so) and be strong enough to handle dogs that can pull on leashes. They must have prior experience observing dogs and recognise certain behaviour including recognising any signs of illness or anxiety. They must be able and ready to learn, as well as have the urge to give sensitive, loving care to our boarding dogs. Adhere to all our Health & Safety guidance and record all the daily hotel checks. They will keep the dogs groomed and prepare meals and change water regulary. They will be a motivated cleaner, cleaning and sanitising the rooms and have no issues cleaning up dogs toileting inside or out. Other cleaning duties include cleaning the reception and staff rooms and maintaining the quality of the hotel and grounds when needed. Depending on the business needs, they will be happy working within a team or on their own but be able to take instructions on the day’s routines and always be punctual. Communication is very important with the Manager, other team members and our customers when checking in or out and when we do trials.
Working hours (shifts) are between 7am and 6pm. The temporary position is for a 7 hour minimum contract between Monday to Sundays with the possibility of extra hours depending on the business needs. Salary - National Minimum Wage
The contract would start 15th September 2025 until 2nd November 2025
