Rate of Pay: £12.71 per hour (effective from 1st September)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM

JOB DESCRIPTION

Somerforde Residential Home is seeking a reliable and hardworking Temporary Laundry Assistant to support our housekeeping team. This is a great opportunity to be part of a friendly and dedicated care environment where your role will contribute directly to the comfort and dignity of our residents.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Previous laundry or cleaning experience is desirable but not essential
• A caring, respectful attitude towards elderly residents
• Good attention to detail and organisational skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Reliable, punctual, and committed to maintaining high standards

• Collect, sort, and wash residents’ clothing and linens
• Dry, fold, and iron laundry items as required
• Ensure laundry is returned to the correct residents in a timely manner
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene within the laundry area
• Follow infection control protocols and health & safety standards
• Support the wider housekeeping team when needed
