Salary range: A reasonable estimate for this position is $72,404 -$83,936

POSITION DESCRIPTION

Temporary positions are anticipated for lecturers in Civil and Environmental Engineering. A list of courses that may be available during 2025-2026 academic years is attached. An updated list is available on the department website at

Appointment Date: Several appointments may be made each year. A selected candidate may be assigned only one course in any quarter. Service dates are:

• Fall Quarter 2025: September 22, 2025 – December 12, 2025
• Winter Quarter 2026: January 2, 2026 – March 20, 2026
• Spring Quarter 2026: March 26, 2025 – June 11, 2026

Duties and Responsibilities: Teach one or more lectures and/or laboratory courses in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering during the academic year.

QUALIFICATIONS

Basic qualifications (required at time of application)

• Minimum professional degree requirement is a Master’s in Civil or Environmental Engineering, or extensive university-level/higher education teaching experience in a relevant area; although exceptions may be made for exceptional candidates with strong and relevant experience in both practice and teaching

Additional qualifications (required at time of start)

• Evidence of teaching excellence or potential for excellence, and a commitment to inclusive and quality undergraduate education

Preferred qualifications (other preferred, but not required, qualifications for the position)

• preferably a PhD in Civil and Environmental Engineering
