We are now looking for a suitable person to fill the following position in the Library: Major Duties and Responsibilities The appointee will be responsible mainly for the following: Assisting in creating, enhancing and maintaining bibliographic, item and authority records for library materials in various formats; Assisting in collecting relevant data and information for collection development and management to prepare reports to support management decisions; Assisting in the acquisition and subscription of library materials; Assisting in the management of collection, stack, overall physical space and inventory; Assisting in promoting the use of library services and resources; Handling library user enquiries and liaising with internal and external parties; Performing counter and shift duties during weekdays, weekends and public holidays; and Performing any other duties as assigned by the University Librarian or his/her nominee(s). Candidates Candidates should possess the following qualifications, experience and competence: At least 5 subjects with Level 2 in HKDSE or equivalent, including English & Chinese Languages and Mathematics (holder of the Certificate of Library Assistant will be an advantage); Good computer skills including English and Chinese word-processing and spreadsheet applications; Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (preferably including Putonghua); Customer-oriented, strong interpersonal skills, self-motivated with sense of responsibility; and Experience in and knowledge of library related work is preferred. Terms and Conditions for Appointment Successful candidates will be appointed on a temporary full-time contract for the employment term of 6 months.
