Assisting the mailroom with customer service counter distribution of packages, processing mail/shipping requests for customers, sorting incoming mail and packages, and making campus mail deliveries. Temporary Mail Clerk Pay Status and Classification: Non-exempt, Temporary. Supervisor: Manager/ Mailing-Printing Services Position Purpose: Assisting the mailroom with customer service counter distribution of packages, processing mail/shipping requests for customers, sorting incoming mail and packages, and making campus mail deliveries. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Customer Service: Assists at the customer service counter to address inquiries, including processing mail and shipping requests efficiently and courteously. Mail Processing and Deliveries: Handles incoming mail packages, ensuring they are accurately sorted and logged. Conducts regular delivery of mail and packages to various departments across campus, ensuring items are delivered promptly. Follow safety and security procedures for handling mail and packages. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent; current college students are encouraged to apply. Previous experience in a customer service role or mailroom environment is preferred. Proficiency in using computer systems/software applications. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Physical requirements: Ability to lift and carry packages up to 50 pounds, and the capability to walk or stand for extended periods while making deliveries. Compensation: The hourly range for this position is $17.50-$18.50. Except for roles with a set rate of pay, the wage/salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to department budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training.
