Bring your expertise to life—help professionals master the art of clarity.
Brandeis University’s Rabb School of Continuing Studies is seeking a creative and experienced academic to design and build a 10–15 hour online asynchronous micro credential course leading to a microcredential in Communicating Complex Ideas with Clarity.
In this project-based opportunity, you’ll create a dynamic and practical learning experience that empowers professionals to translate specialized or technical content into accessible, persuasive messaging for diverse stakeholders. The course will blend targeted skill-building in clarity, storytelling, and interdisciplinary communication—giving learners tools they can use immediately in the workplace.

What You Will Do

  • Develop engaging, interactive content (10–15 hours) for asynchronous delivery.
  • Design applied assessments and rubrics to measure clarity, engagement, and impact.
  • Build course materials using multimedia, real-world examples, and simulations.
  • Incorporate WCAG accessibility standards for inclusive learning.
  • Collaborate with learning designers to ensure smooth content flow and alignment with learning outcomes.
  • Recommend high-value resources to expand learners’ communication toolkit.
  • Leverage educational technology—videos, avatars, adaptive content, gamified feedback—to enhance engagement.
  • Ensure modularity and potential stackability for integration into broader credential pathways.

What You Bring:

  • Master’s degree (Doctorate preferred) in communication, rhetoric, instructional design, STEM, business, or related field.
  • 2+ years’ experience communicating complex material in professional or technical settings.
  • At least 1 year of higher education teaching/training experience (online preferred).
  • Familiarity with communication tools—data visualization, writing frameworks, and collaborative platforms.
  • Comfort with LMS platforms and digital authoring tools.
  • Strong project management, organization, and interpersonal skills.

Preferred:

  • Experience designing online training programs or micro-credentials.
  • Familiarity with Moodle LMS.
  • Background in adult learning theory, cognitive design, or inclusive pedagogy.

Details:

  • Fully remote (U.S.-based applicants only, no visa sponsorships).
  • 6-week development timeline (~25 total hours).
  • Compensation: $1,000.
