Terrace Lodge “the heart of caring and sharing” Terrace Lodge is a 100-bed long-term care home in the Township of Malahide. Situated in beautiful Elgin County, our home features private and semi-private accommodation with 24-hour nursing care. Outdoor areas to relax with family, as well as living and dining areas are available for resident enjoyment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Successful completion or enrollment in a Food Service Worker program meeting the requirements of the Ontario Long-Term Care Homes Act
  • Current Safe Food Handling Certificate
  • A passion for serving others and providing quality care
  • Cook diploma (an asset)
  • Excellent communication skills

Responsibilities

As a Dietary Aide, you will be responsible for basic food preparation, assisting the Cook where needed, and handling food in accordance with safety and sanitary regulations. You will also be responsible for service of food, setting and clearing tables, and receiving goods delivered to the dietary department. Attention to detail is key, as you will keep accurate records while maintaining a safe and sanitary work environment (knowing the proper procedures for operating and cleaning all equipment, utensils, work services, etc. used in food service areas).
