Description Sigvaris is currently looking for a Temporary Employee to work as a Shipping Clerk at our facility in Holland, MI for about 4 Weeks. Reporting directly to the Operations Supervisor, the Shipping Clerk will expedite and route movement of incoming and outgoing shipments. SHIFT & LENGTH of the ASSIGNMENT: • Monday to Thursday: 6:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. • Friday: 6:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. • This will be for about 4 weeks. PAY: • $19.75 per hour DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: These duties and responsibilities are not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job. Duties, responsibilities and activities may change at any time with or without notice. • Operates pallet jacks to load and unload trucks. • Operates pallet jacks to convey, move, load and unload materials to proper departments or areas for storage. • Reviews and processes daily stock replenishments to help maximize operational efficiency. • Palletize production goods and materials for shipment including stretch wrapping and band loading as necessary. • Receives/Transfers/Adjusts inventory using warehouse management system to ensure inventory accuracy. • Generates packing lists for outbound shipments, ensuring accuracy of all documents and the electronic communication in advance of shipments. • Contact carriers to arrange shipments and to issue instructions for the shipping and delivery of product. • Unpacks, examines, verifies and routes incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and communicates to rectify damages and shortages. • Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies by performing cycle counts. • Reads sales orders to determine specifications for shipping and picking of orders. • Performs all computer functions necessary for shipping/receiving of goods. • Performs all computer functions to track various aspects of goods. • Participates in cycle counts and year end physicals to maintain accurate inventory. • Reports defective or questionable products and conditions to the department supervisor. • Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations. • Complies with all OSHA and company safety rules. • Fosters positive morale among staff, by promotion of open communication with all departments, to help create and maintain an innovative and cooperative staff relationship and environment. o Interacts with external and internal customers in a timely manner conducive to continued positive relationships. o Displays patience, courtesy and tact; demonstrates flexibility, enthusiasm and willingness to cooperate while working with others or in place of others as necessary. • Demonstrates effective communication methods. o Utility/Production/Shipping Lead and/or appropriate management staff are kept informed of developments affecting their functions. o Responds quickly to all oral and written communications. o Maintains and encourages an open line of communication with both internal and external customers. • Follows established company policies and procedures to ensure compliance with SIGVARIS policies, industry standards, ISO 13485 standards, and Federal, State and local laws. • Follows all work instructions, creates and maintains accurate records to meet all internal and external requirements to support the SIGVARIS Quality System and Quality Policy. • Performs any other duties and responsibilities as assigned to ensure an efficient workflow. Requirements EDUCATION and WORK EXPERIENCE: • A high school diploma or equivalent/GED. • A minimum of three (3) years of experience in a Warehouse performing Shipping & Receiving duties. • Must have knowledge and understanding of computer systems/programs as well as proficient in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and Outlook. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: This job involves moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the environment is low to moderate. Occasionally, exposed to both warm and cold air. • Occasionally required to sit, walk, stand, reach with hands and arms, talk or hear, bend, lift or climb. • Occasionally required to lift over 50 pounds. • Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or finger dexterity and hand coordination. • The ability to use hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble small and large objects is required. • Specific vision abilities required for this job include: close vision, distance vision, ability to adjust or focus. You will be paid through a temporary agency and will be required by that agency to successfully complete a background check, verifiable education, and drug test in advance of hire.
