Description
In view of the nature and of the urgency of the temporary positions we are looking to fill, it is important for candidates to be available for temporary employment on short notice. In practice, this implies either being in possession of valid NATO security clearance at the time of application, or having been in possession of such a clearance with the possibility to reactivate it swiftly. Please note that only applicants with a valid NATO security clearance will be considered for selective assessments. A. POST CONTEXT The NATO Defense College (NDC) provides senior-level education, on transatlantic security issues, enabled by research on matters relevant to the Alliance, and supported by engagement with several stakeholders. The Temporary Personnel is needed to support Communication and Information Services Branch in the administration, configuration and monitoring of the NDC network security services. B. PRINCIPAL DUTIES The incumbent will be responsible for: · Provide on-site network security administration services at our headquarters from Monday to Friday, public holidays excluded. · Manage configuration and ensure the security of our systems. · Oversee all aspects of cybersecurity, including monitoring, threat detection, and response (e.g., Administer System and endpoint Security; implement network and perimeter Security; implement access management; Support Incident Detection and first-level Response; perform log analysis and reporting; perform patch and Update Management; perform security tools maintenance; review the security of third-party vendors and SaaS platforms.) · Conduct regular security assessments and audits. · Implement and maintain security protocols and procedures. · Provide regular reports and updates on security status and incidents. C. CANDIDATE PROFILE Education and knowledge: · Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or related fields · Knowledge and experience in the administration of Windows-based networks and Azure cloud services. · Proven Security System Administration skills in the above environments; · Knowledge of system hardening techniques. · Knowledge and expertise in Configuration Management and change control in the area of security Work experience: · Experience with the configuration and management of Boundary Protection Devices and network devices (router/switches). · Experience with SIEM: Security Information and Event Management systems. · Familiarity with security testing tools. · Experience in system’s patching and updating. · Experience log analysis and security incident handling. · Knowledge of international security standards. D. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION · 2.5 paid days of leave per month worked; · Fulfilling working atmosphere in an international and military community; · Contract period: 6 months with possibility of extension.
