POSITION: TEMPORARY RECE FULL DAY EDUCATOR

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated RECE Full Day Educator to join our team!
Location: South Meadow; 23 Royce Avenue, Stoney Creek ON L8G 4C9
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Schedule: Monday to Friday, rotating day shifts
Pay Rate per Collective Agreement (includes wage grants): $27.72 per hour

Who We’re Looking For

Experience:

  • At least 1 year of experience working directly with children OR experience in a childcare setting with school-aged children is preferred
  • Proven ability to plan and implement programs for toddlers and preschoolers

Education:

  • Diploma in Early Childhood Education

Certifications:

  • Member in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators
  • Standard First Aid with CPR level C certification
  • Clear Vulnerable Sector Police Check
  • Proof of up-to-date immunizations for TB, Tetanus, and MMR

Skills & Competencies:

  • Familiarity with the Ministry of Education’s How Does Learning Happen? framework is an asset
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Dedication to fostering an inclusive, equitable, and diverse environment
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and adaptability in a fast-paced setting

Key Responsibilities:

  • Designing and implementing developmentally appropriate activities based on children’s interests to promote their overall development
  • Maintaining supervision and ensuring a safe, nurturing environment for children up to 12 years of age
  • Organizing indoor and outdoor play spaces, materials, and equipment to create a welcoming environment
  • Conducting daily health checks on children and documenting any concerns as required by the Ministry of Education
  • Collaborating with colleagues and maintaining professional relationships with Hamilton Wentworth District School Board staff
Responsibilities
