We are now looking for a suitable person to fill the following position(s) in the School of Science and Technology: Major Duties and Responsibilities The appointee will primarily support the research team on a collaborative project with City University of Hong Kong titled “Intelligent Resource Allocation in Coded Computing for Distributed Machine Learning with Heterogeneity” (R6793). The appointee will be responsible mainly for the following: Conducting literature reviews; Developing algorithms; Writing simulation programs for numerical analysis; Performing data pre-processing and post-processing; Assisting with documentation; and Engaging in additional research activities and duties as assigned by the Project Investigator(s) or Supervisor(s). Candidates Candidates should possess the following qualifications, experience and competence: A Doctoral degree in Information Engineering, Computer Science, Data Engineering or a related discipline (for Temporary Research Associate/Postdoc); A Master’s degree or above in any of the aforementioned disciplines (for Temporary Research Assistant I); A Bachelor’s degree or above in any of the aforementioned disciplines (for Temporary Research Assistant II); Relevant research experience in Machine Learning, Distributed Computing, Optimization Methods, and/or Error-Correction Coding is preferred; Strong programming skills in MATLAB and Python; Proficient writing skills for research articles; and Self-motivated, with a strong capacity for learning, and fluent in English.
