We are now looking for a suitable person to fill the following position in the School of Science and Technology: Major Duties and Responsibilities The appointee shall mainly assist the Principal Investigator in the research project "Emerging Pollutants in Mangroves: Occurrence of Liquid Crystal Monomers (LCMs) and Their Interaction With Microplastics (MPs)” (R6856). The appointee will be responsible mainly for the following: Conducting sampling and analytical work on water, sediment, and plant samples to determine pollution levels and interaction studies; Analyzing experimental data and preparing technical reports, presentations, and manuscripts; and Supporting other research-related activities as assigned by the Principal Investigator. Candidates Candidates should possess the following qualifications, experience, and competence: A Master’s degree in Analytical Chemistry, Environmental Chemistry, Environmental Science, Applied Science, or a related discipline (for Research Assistant I); A Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Environmental Science, or a related discipline (for Research Assistant II); At least 5 subjects with Level 2 in HKDSE or equivalent, including English & Chinese languages and Mathematics/ Diploma (for Technical Assistant); Strong background in analytical chemistry techniques, including sample preparation and instrumental analysis (e.g., LC-MS/MS, GC-MS); Demonstrated experience or academic training in environmental pollutant analysis and sorption/desorption studies is highly desirable; Good knowledge of experimental design, data interpretation, and statistical analysis; Excellent command of spoken and written English and Chinese; and Detail-oriented, responsible, and able to work independently and meet deadlines.
