For more information about the University, please visit https://www.hkmu.edu.hk We are now looking for a suitable person to fill the following position in the School of Arts and Social Sciences: Major Duties and Responsibilities The appointee shall mainly assist the research team in a research project “Echoes of the Past: Reconstructing Vanished Soundscapes in Hong Kong through Archaeoacoustics” (R6675). The appointee will be responsible mainly for the following: Supporting the team in conducting literature reviews and reference research related to visual studies, immersive installation, and spatial design for research dissemination; Collecting and organizing data, including field video recordings, archival materials, visual documentation, and spatial data for analysis; Assisting the Principal Investigator/supervisors in the preparation, coordination, and execution of research studies and artistic experiments; Participating in the design, implementation, and documentation of immersive, spatial and sound-based artistic outputs; Assisting in the planning and organization of related workshops, symposia, and performances; Preparing materials for publications, exhibitions, and other research outcome deliverables; and Undertaking other ad-hoc research and administrative activities as instructed by the Principal Investigator. Candidates Candidates should possess the following qualifications, experience and competence: A Bachelor’s degree or above in technical art design, performing arts, creative media, or a related discipline; Demonstrated experience in lighting design, spatial design, or technical coordination for exhibitions, installations, or performances; Strong ability and knowledge in spatial design, immersive environment design, or programming; Preferred understanding of immersive technologies, site-specific art, and art-technology integration; Candidates who have the intention to pursue a research postgraduate degree are preferred; Proven record in academic publication, exhibition, or artistic presentation in the field of music, sound, performing arts, or media art; Experience in AutoCAD, lighting programming tools (e.g. ETC, Capture), or other design and visualisation software; Strong organisational and planning skills, good interpersonal and communication skills, and proficiency in computer applications (MS Office, document editing, etc.); Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work independently under tight deadlines; Professional communication skills for handling correspondence, coordination, and documentation; and Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese.
