Meditech Endoscopy Ltd is a fast-moving product development company based in Basildon, Essex. We are a leading provider of medical-grade endoscopy products to the NHS and healthcare settings worldwide. We specialise in designing innovative, fit-for-purpose products of unrivalled quality. Our renowned endoscope tip protector ProTech, is currently distributed to hospitals and healthcare facilities globally. An exciting temporary internship opportunity has become available to join our dynamic new Research team.
We are a small, friendly team with the objective to develop a broader understanding about infection prevention in endoscopy and healthcare through education and knowledge. We aim to build long term relationships built on trust with our distributors and hospitals and to continue to provide innovative solutions for our end users

We would like to meet anyone who is interested in research, ideally in the healthcare sector who would like to expand current skill sets and develop new transferrable skills. The ideal candidate must be professional, eager to show off their research skills, and ready to learn. The job position is temporary (3 months), for 2 days per week, on Tuesday and Wednesday, one day will be required to work in the office, which is based in Basildon and the other day will be working remotely from home or suitable space. This is a paid position at minimum wage.

Reporting directly to your mentor and the Manging Director, the primary role of a member of the research team is to showcase your research skills and knowledge and conduct basic data analysis for a variety of different tasks. You will be working on live projects alongside senior team members; the tasks will be discussed during weekly meetings; there will also be a range of ad-hoc tasks in between.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Students studying a B.Eng. or MSc. in physical sciences degrees, healthcare or data analytics (Graduated or undergraduate)
• Has academic excellence with a passion for research and innovation.
• Has a ‘Think out of the box’ mindset and ‘can-do’ attitude.
• Is competent at managing own time
• Can work independently with some guidance
• Computer literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Has creativity, initiative, professional and effective communication skills - both written and verbal.
• Ability to work individually or within a team
• Confidence to put forward ideas of their own
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  Application Requirements:

2 days per week (Tuesday & Wednesday)

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree (Graduated or undergraduate)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• A keen interest in the healthcare sector
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, multitasking environment with flexibility and adaptability. Proficient in data analysis and report writing.
• Relevant experience in market research preferred but not essential.

• Collating data and presenting findings via presentations both in person and online.
• Attending Sales & Marketing meetings
• Market research on products in different regions and recording findings using a selection of graphs, tables, charts and presentations.
• Contacting hospitals and healthcare facilities with Freedom of Information requests.
• Helping to write research protocols and trial data.
• Sending emails to healthcare providers or contacts when required.
• Keeping a close eye on endoscopy related news and new educational articles.
• Researching guidelines for cleaning and reprocessing in different countries and keeping records on file when they change or update.
• Making files and keeping the Research folder tidy and easy to use
