  The Tax Specialist, I is responsible for providing for gaining hands on experience in order to grow their technical knowledge regarding PDS tax disciplines. In addition, will further develop professionalism, interpersonal skills, and other necessary tools in order to succeed in the tax/finance industry. They will act as a key role in the internship program.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree with an emphasis on accounting
• Applicant must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

• Strong sense of personal responsibility for tasks assigned
• Ability to work with others and accept direction
• Ability to function effectively in Microsoft Excel & Outlook, and to learn tax preparation software
• Propensity to identify, analyze, and solve problems
• Proficiency in tasks that require a high level of attention to detail and organization

• Obtain knowledge on the tax treatment of S Corporations, Partnerships, and Individuals
• Prepare and file tax returns, extensions, and quarterly tax payments for the applicable groups above using Thomson Reuters OneSource and CCH Axcess software
• Maintain tax department data storage & retrieval systems
• Draft responses to federal, state, and local tax inquiries and audit requests as needed
• Participation in special projects and presentations as needed
• Bring forth ideas to improve processes and materials
