(Temporary 20 months contract)

Are you a detail-oriented professional with a strong background in financial analysis and reporting? The Specialist, Strategic Reporting provides essential financial reporting support, including delivering monthly financial analysis and presentations to the Executive Management Team. This role involves collaboration with various business units across the organization and participation in special projects as assigned.
What you’ll do

Education & Specialized Knowledge

  • Post-secondary education in Business Administration, Finance, or Accounting
  • CGA/CA/CPA designation
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge of IFRS
  • Superior proficiency with IT-based automated reporting tools
  • Superior proficiency with Excel application
  • Proficiency with other MS Office applications
  • Knowledge of the energy and utility industries, including a solid understanding of the regulatory environmen

Experience

  • A minimum of 3 years related work experience including financial reporting and variance analysis
  • Experience in a unionized utility environment an asse

Skills/Abilities/Competencies

  • Highly self-motivated and directed
  • Ability to follow established processes with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Solid problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to provide practical and/or innovative solutions to complex technical issues
  • Strong written and presentation skills, with the ability to explain technical information in an organized and concise way
  • Ability to plan, prioritize and execute multiple projects and initiatives within established timelines
  • Ability to build and maintain collaborative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Must hold and maintain a valid class “G” driver’s licens
