Description The Summer Student Aide provides temporary support to hospital departments during the summer months. This position is ideal for students seeking hands-on experience in a healthcare environment while assisting with administrative, clerical, and basic operational tasks under supervision. Requirements Essential Duties and Responsibilities Assist nursing staff with basic patient care activities under supervision Obtain and document vital signs as directed Assist patients with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, toileting, feeding) Reposition and transport patients safely Answer call lights and respond to patient needs promptly Assist with stocking supplies and maintaining clean patient areas Support patient admissions, transfers, and discharges Perform basic clerical and administrative tasks as needed Greet patients, visitors, and staff in a professional manner Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA requirements Follow all hospital policies, safety guidelines, and infection control procedures Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications Education Currently enrolled as a high school, college, or university student Must be in good academic standing Experience No prior healthcare experience required Customer service or office experience preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to follow instructions and work under supervision Basic computer skills Dependable, punctual, and professional Ability to maintain confidentiality Schedule & Duration Summer employment (dates may vary) Part-time or full-time hours may be available Schedule determined by departmental needs Physical Requirements Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods Ability to lift up to 50 pounds if required Disclaimer This job posting is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties, responsibilities, or qualifications.
