EXCITING CARE OPPORTUNITY – TEMPORARY 6-MONTH ROLE! – EXCELLENT RATES OF PAY!

SV Care is recruiting a Temporary Waking Night Residential Support Worker for a 6-month position in an Ofsted-registered children’s residential provision within Colchester. This is a chance to be part of shaping a service in a newly renovated and spacious modern property finished to the highest standard.
We’re looking to recruit passionate, dedicated individuals who want to make a difference in the lives of some of the most vulnerable young people in our society who’ve experienced neglect, abuse, and trauma. As a result of these early life experiences, the young people we care for may at times display challenging behaviours. You will need to be resilient and dedicated enough to manage such behaviours while continuing to provide unconditional care, advice, and support.
If this sounds like the career opportunity that you’ve been waiting for, apply today! For an informal chat and more information about this temporary 6-month position, please submit your CV via Indeed or send us a message directly.
Starting rates of pay are £12.50/hour (depending on experience). This role requires you to work evenings and weekends on a shift-pattern basis.
Previous experience is preferred, but not essential, as extensive induction and training will be provided for all team members. A full, clean UK driving licence is also preferred but not essential.
Requirements for DBS and reference checking will be undertaken and paid for by SV Care Services, in line with government regulations and safer recruitment best practices.
This is a fixed-term role for 6 months, but it still offers the opportunity to gain valuable experience and skills in residential childcare within an expanding organisation.

DUTIES INCLUDE:

  • Supporting young people to engage in education
  • Ensuring young people’s health needs are met
  • Providing advice, support, and guidance
  • Managing complex behaviours and crisis intervention
  • Administering and recording medication
  • Maintaining daily records and administrative work
  • Contributing to the care planning process
  • Liaising with external stakeholders and our own multi-disciplinary team
  • Attending mandatory training
  • Engaging in team meetings
  • Maintaining the home (laundry, cleaning, shopping, cooking, etc.)
