Responsibilities

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

The SEA Tendering Manager is responsible for leading and managing all tendering activities across the Southeast Asia region for Sulzer Services. This role ensures that bids and proposals are commercially competitive, technically compliant, and aligned with company strategy while safeguarding margins and contractual risks. The Tendering Manager will collaborate closely with Sales, Engineering, Operations, and Legal teams to deliver winning proposals that secure profitable growth in Pumps, Turbo Services, and Electromechanical Services.

MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Tender & Proposal Management

  • Lead the preparation, coordination, and submission of tenders, bids, and proposals in line with customer requirements, deadlines, and internal governance. with the necessary sign off in accordance with the Delegation of Authority
  • Ensure proposals are compliant with technical specifications, commercial terms, and company policies.
  • Develop winning strategies by balancing competitiveness with risk mitigation, leveraging value propositions such as OEM expertise, retrofit capabilities, and service excellence

Commercial & Risk Management

  • Review and negotiate tender terms and conditions, highlighting contractual

risks (e.g., liability, warranty, payment terms) and ensuring alignment with

corporate policies.

  • Coordinate with Legal and Finance to safeguard Sulzer’s interests while

enabling business opportunities.

  • Apply pricing strategies, cost analysis, and margin optimization to ensure

competitiveness and profitability.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Sales Managers and Business Development teams across

SEA to align tendering priorities with funnel health and order intake targets.

  • Work closely with Service Center Operations, Engineering, and Supply

Chain teams to validate technical solutions, costing accuracy, and delivery

schedules.

  • Liaise with Product Line specialists and global factories for technical

clarifications, part sourcing, and cross-regional tender support.

Process Excellence & Governance

  • Implement, maintain & continuous improvement on structured tendering

processes, tools, and templates to drive efficiency, transparency, and

compliance.

  • Track tender pipeline performance (hit ratio, win/loss analysis, pricing

competitiveness) and provide insights for continuous improvement.

  • Ensure timely updates and data accuracy in Salesforce (SalesXcelerate)

or other CRM tools for funnel and forecasting reliability.

  • Maintain and provide reporting on tendering activities & trends
  • Contribute towards preparation of monthly sales reporting to communicate

business performance against targets

Leadership & People Development

  • Manage and coach the SEA tendering team to build capability in technicalcommercial bid preparation and risk management.
  • Drive ownership, accountability, and alignment with Sulzer’s four cultural

  • Foster collaboration across countries (Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand,

Vietnam, Philippines, Taiwan, and Korea) to ensure consistency in
tendering practices.
