In this hands-on role, you’ll help safeguard workers and equipment, monitor confined spaces, and contribute to a strong safety culture while working outdoors in all weather conditions. Major Responsibilities Adhere to the Province of Alberta, ENMAX Corporation, A.E.U.C. (Alberta Electrical Utility Code) and Occupational Health and Safety rules and regulations Provide confined space support under the direction of the Leadhand Safeguard workers, the public, and equipment at work sites Monitor confined spaces and maintain surveillance throughout operations Identify and control potential hazards Maintain constant communication with workers inside confined spaces Remain stationed at or near the confined space entrance unless properly relieved by another trained attendant Be trained and prepared to initiate emergency and evacuation procedures Conduct equipment inspections and perform routine maintenance Ensure proper care and use of vehicles, tools, and work sites Maintain accurate documentation and safety records Qualifications & Experience High School Diploma or GED Must have a valid Province of Alberta driver’s license, minimum Class 5 (non-GDL) Ability to identify workplace hazards, participate in safety meetings, and contribute to a culture of safety Demonstrated teamwork and communication skills Confined Space certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire) Willing and able to work outdoors in all weather conditions Must have or be willing to obtain First Aid & CPR Must be willing to upgrade qualifications as required Must be physically fit and capable of lifting 50 lbs Competencies Strong Safety Orientation (critical) Initiative Customer Service Communication (critical) Teamwork Attention to detail ENMAX Values: Safety, Integrity, Accountability, Service, Teamwork, Agility, Innovation Did we mention the ENMAX Advantage?
