POSITION DESCRIPTION City Parks Foundation has offered a series of low-cost USTA sanctioned junior tournaments in NYC parks for 20+ years. We are seeking to hire an experienced tournament director or coach to organize and run our 2025 tournaments. These 2-3 day events will take place at parks throughout all 5 boroughs of NYC from July - September. The tournament director will be a part-time seasonal employee of the CityParks Play Department and report to the Director of Operations. Compensation: $30/hour RESPONSIBILITIES Setup online registration platform through USTA Serve Tennis Serve as primary point of contact for all tournament related communications Be on-site contact for all tournament dates at various citywide park locations May be required to carry equipment to/from sites Monitor registration and coordinate plan for outreach with Associate Director Answer questions from parents and promote whenever possible to the community REQUIREMENTS Previous experience running USTA sanctioned tournaments Knowledge of USTA Serve Tennis or willingness to receive training on Serve Tennis Knowledgeable in USTA Eastern Rules and Regulations General knowledge of tennis rules and etiquette Ability to work with diverse constituencies, both internal and external to CPF Exceptional communication skills and work-ethic Willingness and ability to carry and transport sports equipment as needed Willingness and ability to travel to various park sites Applicants must comply with USTA & CPF background check and SafeSport requirements ABOUT CITY PARKS FOUNDATION At City Parks Foundation (CPF), we are dedicated to invigorating and transforming New York City parks into dynamic, vibrant centers of urban life through arts, environmental education, sports, and community building programs for all New Yorkers. Free golf, tennis, track & field, soccer, and fitness programs bring high-quality instruction and equipment into areas where few organized athletic opportunities exist. We offer leveled training, year-round scholarship coaching, and special pro events. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States. City Parks Foundation does not offer visa sponsorship.
