Description Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track faculty member in psychology to begin August 1, 2026. Responsibilities include a 24-credit hour teaching load of undergraduate courses in psychology for majors and nonmajors, assessment activities, and general service to the Department and the College. Teaching assignments include courses in both campus and online formats. The successful applicant will teach a variety of undergraduate psychology courses, based on the Department’s needs and the applicant’s areas of expertise. Although the field of expertise of the successful candidate is open, strong preference will be given to those candidates with appropriate educational training in mental health counseling, addictions counseling, or clinical psychology. Licensure or ability to seek licensure in the state of Indiana in any of these areas is desirable. Additional teaching assignments may include courses within our graduate program in mental health counseling. Other responsibilities may include mentoring undergraduate research and academic advising. Requirements Qualifications & Experience: Requirements include a Ph.D. or ABD in Psychology earned by August, 2026 Active Indiana counseling license (LMFT, LMHC, LCSW, or LCAC); at least 3 yearsfull time experience as licensed counselor. Experience in addictions counseling Demonstrated experience incorporating technology in instructional practices. Experience using a learning management system such as Canvas Excellent written and oral communication skills Professional and engaging demeanor with students and colleagues Preferred Qualifications: Three years full time (or part time equivalence) college/university teaching experience Successful online teaching and curriculum development experience Scholarly work in discipline Expected Competencies by end of first year of employment Evidence of successful college teaching and organizational skills. Distance and Hyflex faculty (teaches all or a majority of contract via distance education delivery) must demonstrate strong online teaching skills. Ease with using online learning platforms Evidence of service to college, discipline, and community Assisting with student and program support (participating in department functions, evaluating student competencies, creating internship agreements, tracking student progress) Completion of the Faculty Resource Center training FRC100 is required; FRC 200 is strongly recommended Application Process: Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled.
