This position is part of the Association of the Academic Staff of the University of Alberta (AASUA). The successful candidate will be offered a tenured or tenure-track appointment with the rank of Assistant Professor, which is in accordance with the Academic Faculty Agreement, and offers a comprehensive benefits package. Location - This role is in-person at North Campus, Edmonton. The Department of Computing Science at the University of Alberta invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position, starting as early as July 1st, 2026, in the area of Robotics, 3D Computer Vision and Computer Graphics; and with strong fundamentals in mathematical and geometric modeling. We value interdisciplinary research topics that span across areas, focus on real-world physical robotics and embodied computing. UofA has significant strength in ML/AI and collaborations between CS and Engineering on robotics and vision.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will engage in research and teaching in the areas of Robotics, 3D Computer Vision, and Computer Graphics. They will also contribute to interdisciplinary research topics that focus on real-world physical robotics and embodied computing.
