The Facility Manager has responsibility for all operations related to the day-to-day operation of the Oil Terminal and Stabilization Unit. These responsibilities include: Inventory Management, Regulatory Compliance, Safety, Maintenance, Human Resources, Accounts Payable, Environmental Compliance, Training, Maintenance of all facility related plans and programs MOC, PSM as well as any projects assigned by the Regional Manager or Division President.

This position is for a full-time Facility Manager at our Marietta, Ohio facility. The ideal operator will possess good organizational, time management, problem-solving, and housekeeping skills. He/she will possess a steady job history and be a person who looks for opportunities to learn new skills and contribute to making our facility an even better place to work.
Our facility managers handle our customers’ needs by loading, unloading, and transferring chemicals to/from barges, tanks, and railcars. The position works in the tank farm with other operators as a team to produce, process, and maintain quality, products for our customers. Operator Requirements:

  • High School/GED or 2 year college degree preferred.
  • Ability to work without supervision
  • Ability to read and follow written instructions
  • Basic math skills (e.g., add, subtract, multiply, divide)
  • Ability to learn computer skills
  • Able to lift 50 pounds with assistance and perform jobs that involve lifting, bending, climbing tanks and other structures
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Able to work hours as scheduled and potentially 2nd and 3rd shifts Monday through Friday if needed
  • Weekends and holidays as neede

Responsibilities
  • Oversee day-day operations of a crude oil terminal including managing staff of 15 direct reports, ensuring all equipment is in proper working order and managing inventory.
  • Responsible for stabilization unit and all associated programs to include MOC, PSM
  • Act as liason between third party haulers and other Ergon companies with heavy emphasis on the relationship with Ergon Oil Purchasing. Also acts as front-line customer contact for third party haulers
  • Responsible for promoting a culture of safety within the facility and for maintaining all programs associated with safety, compliance, emergency response, spill response. Also manages the training function to ensure all direct reports complete assigned training.
  • Assist regional manager in the development of annual capital improvement budget as well as managing the implementation of the agreed upon budget. Typically, between 700K and 1M for improvement maintenance.
  • P&L responsibility for a facility with approximately 4.4M$ in annual revenue.
  • Support Load and unload barges, trucks, and railcars
  • Attend and participate in production/quality/EHS (Environmental Health & Safety) meetings
  • Utilize our proactive tools (safety checklist, etc.)
  • Stay current on required training
  • Effectively communicate between fellow operators, management, our customers carriers to meet needs
