Description The Terminal Manager is responsible for managing the daily operations of the terminal. The terminal manager coordinates with drivers, customers, and dispatchers to ensure maximum efficiency, competency, and customer satisfaction. Oversee the day-to-day operation of the Terminal. Report any incidents or accidents immediately to the Insurance Administrator at the corporate office Perform walk around inspections of trucks and trailers in order to eliminate visible defects. Conduct safety meetings Conduct team meetings Timely communication with the corporate office. Have the terminal paperwork ready for the mail run. Know and control expenses and be sure that Acme does not pay for someone else's services and supplies Maintain a list of hazardous substance (including cleaning supplies) used or stored at the office along with their MSDS's Keep the terminal grounds neat and clean Hire and train good dispatchers. Keep them motivated by being a good team leader maintaining a positive attitude and safety mindset Lease as many qualified owner-operators as the market can stand. Train and motivate them so that they can make as much money as possible. Know more about your terminal than anyone else. Get every haul that you can and give excellent, safe, and trained service.
