Responsible for managing all processes and procedures related to vessel, terminal, equipment control operations and equipment maintenance. Manages freight handling equipment and coordinates facilities maintenance.
Manages all processes and procedures related to vessel operations including stevedoring and port activities.
Manages port terminal operations including interchange and yard activities.
Manages freight equipment operations including inventory and equipment control activities.
Manages freight handling equipment functions, including operation, maintenance and operations scheduling activities.
Managers warehouse and freight distribution operations.
Communicates data and information on operational issues to administrative and sales personnel as required to support customer service requirements.
Develops and maintains safety procedures for operations personnel to ensue a safe environment. Schedules departmental safety meetings and training sessions. Coordinates maintenance of building and grounds as necessary.
Performs all other related duties as requested.
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management or in a related field
EXPERIENCE: Five years experience in port operations management
LICENSE: Valid Local Driver’s License and Valid Passport
TRAVEL: 10% travel to other Tropical locations
PHYSICAL: Manual dexterity to perform repetitive motion tasks on computer. Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time up to 8 hours per day. Mobility required to oversee operations activities and to perform inspection duties. Ability to frequently twist, bend, read, squat, kneel and climb heights up to 15 feet, occasionally must lift and carry up to 80 lbs. Able to withstand occasional exposure to extreme weather conditions. Ability to travel in various modes of transportation (e.g. automobile, airplane, train etc.)
