PREFERRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2+ years’ experience in equipment sales is preferred, but not essential. If you have the right mindset, drive, and interest in agriculture, we will invest in training the right individual.
  • Two years post-secondary education in marketing/agriculture or equivalent relevant work experience
  • Understanding of the agricultural industry and knowledge of farming and operational practices is preferred
  • Knowledge in precision agriculture, usage, setup, and optimization would be an asset
  • Ability to build excellent customer relationships
  • High energy and a positive attitude are a must
  • Takes initiative in the work being completed, while being self-motivated, and organized
  • Adopt a selling approach based on asking task-oriented questions, validating customer requirements, proposing solutions, offering demonstrations and moving to close
  • Able to work flexible and extended hours
  • Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record
  • Proficient computer and software skills
Responsibilities

As the Territory Agriculture Sales Representative, you will represent Huron Tractor in Middlesex/Elgin/Oxford by promoting sales of new and used equipment to existing customers and identifying potential customers in a defined sales territory. Whether you have sales experience, or are starting your career in Sales, we will provide the training to help shape your future with Huron Tractor.

This position reports to the Branch Manager and is responsible to:

  • Assess customers’ needs and resources and recommend the appropriate goods or services
  • Prepare and administer sales contracts following a defined sales process
  • Stay current on used equipment values for accurate trade-in evaluations
  • Utilize sales/marketing software packages and maintain knowledge of financing options
  • Consult with customers after sale to provide ongoing support
  • Conduct field demonstrations and stay current on product knowledge
  • Maintain current knowledge on product features and benefits available for sale
  • Maintain customer profiles and information in assigned area for sales management
