Description

An international manufacturer of engineering plastics and polymer materials, based in the western Detroit, MI area is currently searching for a motivated Territory Sales Manager to support and develop their territory on the East Coast. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years’ sales and business development experience within the chemical manufacturing sector, and is technical-minded, with the ability to independently develop new clients and business opportunities.
This position is remote / Work From Home, however, only candidates residing along the Eastern Seaboard will be considered.

TERRITORY SALES MANAGER REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or a similarly technical field
  • At least 5 years’ sales and business development within the chemical industry is required; additional experience developing business with the medical manufacturing industry is strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with engineering plastics, resins, and / or similar polymer materials, as well as their related manufacturing processes
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record is required
  • Strong communication and collaboration ability in a multicultural environment
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and good organizational skills
  • Good computer skills and proficiency in Salesforce and Microsoft Office applications

    - While performing the duties of this job you may be required to intermittently sit, stand, walk, lift up to 25 pounds, lift in excess of 25 pounds with a lift assist, climb stairs, use hands to handle or feel parts/equipment, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend at the waist, talk and hear. You may also be required to use close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and peripheral vision.

Responsibilities
  • Identify new business development opportunities, and establish relationships with potential customers within assigned sales territory
  • Interface with customers and clients regarding product issues, quality assurance, questions, etc.
  • Collaboration with sales teams and clients regarding market analysis, product planning, and expected demand
  • Product proposal preparation and delivery
  • Create price quotations and negotiate price / costs with customers; secure product orders and follow up on tracking and delivery
  • Occasional business travel as required (up to 30%)
  • Other duties as assigned
