McGrew Equipment Company is seeking an outgoing, motivated Territory Sales Representative to grow and support our consignor and vendor base out of PA/MD. This role serves as a primary point of contact for customers and plays a critical role in sourcing equipment for auction. The Sales Representative builds long-term relationships with dealers, contractors, farmers, and equipment owners while representing McGrew Equipment professionally in the field.   Company Description Founded in 1999, McGrew Equipment Company is a full-service auction house specializing in construction and agricultural equipment. We host bi-weekly live and online auctions at our headquarters in Seven Valleys, Pennsylvania, serving buyers and sellers across the U.S. and internationally. Our team combines decades of experience, integrity, and innovation to deliver exceptional results for our customers.   Role Description The Sales Representative is responsible for identifying, developing, and maintaining relationships with consignors and vendors, evaluating equipment for auction, and supporting the auction process from intake through sale. This role begins with a structured training period to build industry knowledge, followed by a commission-eligible phase focused on business development and customer engagement.   Training & Onboarding (3–6 Months) The initial training period is designed to provide a strong foundation in equipment knowledge, auction processes, and McGrew standards. Training length will vary based on demonstrated understanding of procedures and communication skills. Training includes: * Orientation with the Lead Buyer to learn McGrew Equipment Company operations and auction flow * Time spent at the Seven Valleys auction yard shadowing Information Specialists to learn industry terminology and company standards * Hands-on experience photographing and filming auction equipment * Review of the McGrew Inventory system, including outreach to inactive consignors and vendors * Equipment education covering common auction categories such as skid steers, excavators, tractors, and related machinery * Observation of weekly auctions * Training on valuation resources including McGrew Inventory, Machinery Trader, TractorHouse, and similar platforms * Ride-alongs with the Lead Buyer to learn field outreach and relationship development   Essential Duties & Responsibilities (Post-Training) * Develop and maintain strong relationships with dealers, contractors, farmers, banks, and other equipment owners. * Reestablish relationships with consignors and vendors who have not consigned equipment within the past year. * Travel regularly (2–3 days per week), including occasional overnight and extended trips, to meet with customers. * Visit consignors and vendors to evaluate equipment and provide accurate assessments for auction. * Capture photos and videos and prepare detailed descriptions of auction equipment. * Collaborate with the advertising and marketing team to ensure consignor equipment receives optimal exposure. * Utilize social media platforms (Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, etc.) to promote both personal outreach efforts and McGrew Equipment Company. * Identify new business opportunities and think creatively to source additional consignments. * Represent McGrew Equipment Company professionally at all times as a trusted industry partner. * Perform additional duties as assigned.   Qualifications * High school diploma or equivalent required. * Minimum of 2 years of sales, customer service, or relationship-driven experience. * Strong communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills. * Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a field-based role. * Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and insurable status. * Experience with CRM systems or similar tools preferred. * Equipment, agriculture, construction, or auction industry experience a plus, but not required.   Essential Physical Requirements While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, climb on and off equipment, and work outdoors in various weather conditions. The employee must be able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
