Tertiary students are provided with practical work experience opportunities to observe and perform tasks under supervision, to complete the mandatory work placement component of their Early Childhood course. Tertiary students studying toward a qualification in Early Years, can apply for and must outline the placement requirements as set out by the educational provider. The placement will be unpaid. What you’ll be doing: Hume Early Years operates and provides kindergarten and long day care services for children aged 0-6 years of age. A tertiary student placement in one of our Early Years Services will give you the opportunity to: shadow and gain experience of the day in the life of an Early Childhood educator be paired with a host supervisor who will guide, mentor and offer constructive feedback develop respectful and collaborative relationships, engaging with Early Childhood professionals, children and families within the Service demonstrate positive interactions with children which foster inclusive, secure, and interactive learning environments participate in planning, implementing, and evaluating programs for children support the growth and development of children in play based indoor/outdoor program undertake documentation of children’s learning and development perform activities under supervision, aligned with the course requirements ensuring placement outcomes are met. Student Requirements: Currently studying toward: Certificate 3 in Children’s Services Diploma of Children’s Services Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood Teaching) or other relevant Early Childhood related qualification Hold a current Working with Children Check Provide a signed Student Placement Agreement including the education provider’s insurance documentation. Agree to act in accordance with Council’s Employee Code of Conduct while undertaking placement. Additional Information Resume: The application will require a resume.
