This is an in-person on campus, non-remote position. The University has implemented a program allowing employees to work from home one day a week. Participation is subject to Divisional Executive approval depending on operational need.

BRIEF JOB OVERVIEW/SUMMARY

Stockton University is seeking a motivated individual with specific interest and experience in the field of cybersecurity. Reporting to the Information Security Officer, the incumbent will assist in the monitoring of IT security controls and the development of documentation related to business continuity, IT procedures, and audit artifacts.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to manage time efficiently and effectively.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are required.
  • Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication required.
  • Must have the ability to lift 25 lbs. and possess a valid NJ driver’s license.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with NIST 800-171 and/or other relevant cyber-frameworks
  • Associate’s degree in computer science or related field. Applicants may substitute academic qualifications with professional experience on a year-for-year basis.
Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to conducting periodic audits, participating in technical discussions with vendors, maintaining compliance with university IT security procedures and applicable law, and assisting professional staff with investigations.

Specific duties/responsibilities include:

  • Assist in the facilitation of identity access management
  • Assist in the development of the Information Technology Framework, consisting of information security policies, procedures, standards, and other documents.
  • Utilizing NIST and related documentation, analyze and recommend enhancements to existing IT documentation/processes.
  • Utilize vendor-based solutions to detect, interpret, and respond to information and operational security threats.
  • Review vendor-based vulnerability assessments and assist in the development of remediation recommendations.
  • Assist in the coordination and execution of projects and special events.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
