A market leader in the development and provision of Retail software environments, addressing single or multi-Retail operations, for specialist Distribution, Wholesale, Merchant, and Retail industry sectors, addressing single or multi-branch operations, as well as catering for organisations with ‘point-of-sale’ showrooms and warehouses, currently has a position available for a Software Engineer in Test in the newly formed Payments Shared Services team. This role will involve starting on a greenfield project with a team that has just launched an MVP. The candidate will need to own the test strategy, decide on tools, testing frameworks, and ensure the quality of the product.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

• Proven experience as a Software Engineer in Test or similar role.
• Experience in C# .NET, Blazor
• Experience testing back end and front end products
• Experience in developing test strategies and selecting appropriate testing tools and frameworks.
• Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
• Experience in writing clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans and test cases.
• Hands-on experience with automated testing tools.
• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process.
• Experience with performance and/or security testing is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities

• Develop and own the test strategy for the Payments Shared Services team.
• Select and implement appropriate testing tools and frameworks such as TestRail, Selinium or Playwright
• Design, develop, and execute automated tests to ensure the quality of the product.
• Work towards 80%+ test automation
• Work closely with developers to understand the architecture and design of the product.
• Identify, record, document, and track bugs.
• Perform thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved.
• Develop and apply testing processes for new and existing products to meet client needs.
• Liaise with internal teams (e.g., developers and product managers) to identify system requirements.
• Monitor debugging process results.
• Investigate the causes of non-conforming software and train users to implement solutions.
• Track quality assurance metrics, like defect densities and open defect counts.
• Stay up-to-date with new testing tools and test strategies.
