SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in software testing on complex IT projects.
  • Proficiency with Jira or similar issue/defect tracking tools preferred.
  • Effective communication, organisational skills, and meticulous diligence.
  • Ability to engage effectively at all organisational levels and proactively address issues collaboratively.
  • In-depth understanding of test methodologies including both manual and automated testing aligned with best practice testing standards.
  • Experience testing complex, mission-critical systems is a strong advantage.
  • Prior involvement in system implementations with complex integrations is highly desirable.
  • Proven expertise in preparing, executing, and managing test cases and test data.
  • Familiarity coordinating cross-functional testing efforts in large scale IT system roll-outs.Experience working in program teams reporting directly to Test Managers within a structured project environment.

EDUCATION & CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Relevant Degree or Certification in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field preferred.Testing Certifications (e.g., ISTQB) would be an advantage.

Responsibilities

OVERVIEW OF ROLE:

Our client is undertaking a large-scale transformation by rolling out IBM Maximo Application Suite (MAS 9) as their Asset Management platform across Dublin and Cork offices. This initiative aims to enhance business process efficiency and asset reliability by implementing standard MAS 9 features without customisation’s. Working alongside a System Implementation partner and internal Business and Technology teams, the Test Analyst will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and success of the MAS 9 deployment.
Testing will follow a hybrid approach, with at least three days on-site at the North Dublin offices and up to two days working remotely. Certain activities, such as requirements or test planning workshops, may specifically need an on-site presence. There will be a schedule and agreement beforehand.

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare comprehensive test cases ensuring functional and non-functional requirements coverage across MAS 9.
  • Define and prepare test data sets and manage them within Azure Test Plan.
  • Peer review test cases created by project team members and business users.
  • Execute defined test cases and perform ad hoc testing as required.
  • Log issues and defects promptly within Jira tracking system.
  • Provide regular progress reports to the Test Manager and stakeholders (daily, weekly, etc.).
  • Coordinate testing activities, working closely with system implementation partners, project teams, and business SMEs.
  • Facilitate timely communication and resolution of defects and test-related issues.Participate in requirements and test planning workshops, primarily on-site as scheduled.
