iiPay has a unique opportunity for a highly experienced and motivated Test Automation Engineer who wants to be responsible for leading test automation to help drive to our goal of ‘Paying the Planet’.
All our roles can be performed remotely with occasional visits to the office as requested by your manager. Where we have office locations, our team members are welcome to work remotely, on a hybrid basis or fully office based as they wish.
Role Overview
Our highly motivated and engaged team members are at the heart of our success! This role requires being responsible for leading the Test Automation effort, the design, architecture, development and maintenance of a robust and performant test suite during the Software Development Life Cycle. The Test Automation Engineer will work closely with Developers, BA’s, QA Analysts and the Product Support Team throughout the SDLC, executing automated test iterations, tracking and reporting test results, troubleshooting and coordinating bug fixes. They should have a strong understanding of agile processes and the relation between the QA lifecycle and automation. An element of Manual testing is also required with a view to learning the products and features that are to have associated automated tests.
Key objectives of the role
The successful candidate requires minimum 4 years of automation testing experience and the ability to demonstrate a proven track record in the following areas:
- Defining QA requirements, architecture, design & specifications and test conditions
- Active participation in test planning, estimation and prioritisation processes to ensure successful execution of QA activities
- Testing using Selenium, java, Javascript and Page Object model
- Experience in building and maintaining automation frameworks
- Build and maintain QA reporting capabilities cross our entire engineering function
- Defining test requirements from a business, functional and non-functional perspective
- Doing PR reviews for your team to ensure sufficient test coverage is in place and code quality adheres to defined quality standards
- Ensuring the high level of our products functional and non-functional test coverage
- Working with business analysts to derive overall regression scope
- Manual test execution, regression testing, defect tracking and defect closure
- Test Reporting and sign off
- To work closely with Business Analysts, development teams and the manual test team at various stages of the lifecycle
- Risk / Issue identification, analysis and deriving mitigation approach
- Providing objective feedback to software development teams
- Performance, load and stress testing
What are we looking for in you?
- Educated to degree level, ideally in Computer Science
- Four or more years’ experience in an automation testing role, building frameworks from scratch
- Four or more years’ experience in a manual testing role
- A passion to design, build and expand our automation framework
- UI Test Automation tooling Java, Javascript and Selenuim
- Experience of configuring and supporting CI/CD pipelines such as Teamcity
- Experience in building and maintaining automation frameworks
- Familiarity with agile development
- Proven debugging and troubleshooting skills
- Problem solving mentality
- The ability to work to firm timescales, and manage your own work schedule
- A passion for technology and an inquisitive mind to dig into how things work
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Rigorous attention to detail
- Functional testing background with experience in testing web applications
- Professional software testing experience gained through exposure to the full development lifecycle
- Have certified industry recognised qualification such as ISTQB Foundation Level
- Experience of the payroll industry, financial systems, and web-based systems are a significant advantage
