Job Title: Test Automation Engineer Location: Bangalore Experience: 7 plus years Johnson Controls is seeking a seasoned Test Automation Engineer with deep expertise in software test automation and performance validation for web-based, customer-facing applications. This role is pivotal in driving quality across our digital platforms, ensuring robust, scalable, and secure user experiences. The ideal candidate will bring a strategic mindset, hands-on automation skills, and a passion for continuous improvement in testing practices. Key Responsibilities: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software engineers, product owners, designers, product managers, and business stakeholders, to integrate quality assurance throughout the development lifecycle. Design and implement comprehensive test strategies covering functional, regression, performance, and security testing. Lead the design, development and maintenance of scalable test automation frameworks using tools like Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or BrowserStack. Conduct thorough testing to validate functionality across browsers, devices, and operating systems, ensuring responsiveness and accessibility. Execute performance and load testing using tools such as JMeter, LoadRunner, or equivalent to ensure system scalability and reliability. Identify, report, and track defects; collaborate with product teams to ensure timely resolution and high-quality releases. Maintain detailed documentation of test plans, test cases, results, and known issues; provide clear reports on testing progress and quality metrics. Perform security testing to identify vulnerabilities and ensure compliance with organizational standards. Work closely with UX/UI, and business teams to validate user-facing features and align testing with business goals. Drive continuous improvement by integrating emerging tools, technologies, and methodologies into QA workflows. Qualifications: Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field. 7 years of experience in quality assurance and testing for web-based, public-facing applications. Hands-on experience with performance testing tools such as JMeter, LoadRunner, or similar. Proven expertise in automated testing frameworks including Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or BrowserStack. Strong understanding of cross-browser and cross-device compatibility testing. Experience in Agile/Scrum environments and familiarity with tools like Jira, Confluence, and Azure DevOps. Knowledge of cloud environments, preferably Azure, and cloud-based testing solutions. Must be comfortable to use GitHub Copilot and other Generative AI tools for day to day development and problem-solving. Experience with security and accessibility testing. Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills. Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality software.
