POSITION OVERVIEW

Based at our Head office in Johannesburg , in order to further strengthen our global Quality team, we are currently seeking an:
Test Baker – ( Johannesburg, South Africa )
Reporting directly to the QC Manager , the successful candidate for this key function will be responsible for:
Conducting tests (quality control) on premixes and all products received from the factory.

Responsibilities

- KEY TASKS

  • Maintenance of baking equipment and machinery
  • Carry out safety checks on oven, proofers and water temperatures and record temperatures on Testing Result Form.
  • Check all bread moulding machines for cleanliness and set timers to oven and proofer.
  • Check quality and quantity of premixes
  • Record batch numbers and dates of manufacture of ingredients before mixing premises in accordance with recipes.
  • Scale all premixes with consumables (flour, yeast) according to the recipe and record on Batch Testing Results Form.
  • Select appropriate flour for each premix.
  • Process dough mix
  • Measure dough mix temperature, set the timers accordingly, and record both the temperature and the timer settings on the Batch Testing Results Form.
  • Label tested batches appropriately
  • Complete Approve/Reject/On Hold sticker as is necessary for all batches tested.
  • Carry out test baking of all premixes from the factory.
  • Evaluate all baked products by following QC specification.
  • Communicate all non-conforming products to supervisor so they can be placed on hold.
  • Other additional duties
  • Verify all scales.
  • Attend to customer complaints by baking retention samples and control.
  • Cleaning up and maintain hygiene.
  • Communicate raw material requests to QC Manager and decanting it in the respective containers.
