Ascent Aviation Services continues to grow and are continually looking for motivated and career minded aviation professionals who will support our vision and goals.    We are seeking a Test Cell Apprentice to assist in performing basic functions related to the service, testing, and maintenance of aircraft engines under the supervision of experienced Test Operators and Technicians. This is an entry-level, hands-on apprenticeship aimed at building foundational knowledge and skills in aircraft engine testing and support operations. The apprentice will support engine installation, site maintenance, and test preparation activities while learning how to follow technical instructions, operate ground support equipment, and maintain a safe and organized work environment. As a 24/7 operation, we have openings across all shifts, including days, evenings, weekends, and 12-hour schedules. Candidates must be flexible and willing to work any shift based on operational needs. Overtime—both scheduled and unscheduled, including holidays—may also be required.  DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:  * Assist in basic installation and removal of engine parts and accessories. * Support the setup and teardown of engines on test stands under supervision. * Observe and learn the test process, including following test instructions provided by senior technicians or engineers. * Help maintain cleanliness and safety of the Test Site, ensuring a FOD-free environment. * Learn to operate common ground support equipment (GSE) in a safe and controlled environment. * Participate in engine inspection preparation activities, including visual inspections and tool organization. * Assist with data entry and logging tasks during engine tests using customer-supplied systems (with supervision). * Shadow experienced staff during engine borescope inspections, troubleshooting, and test operations. * Learn to interpret maintenance manuals and technical documents under guidance. * Help organize tools and equipment needed for engine test operations. * Participate in cleaning, basic maintenance, and upkeep of testing equipment and work areas. * Document training activities and complete assigned learning objectives.     YOU WILL GET MORE THAN JUST COMPENSTATION:  * 401K with company match   * Medical/Dental/Vision Insurance   * Disability   * PTO   * Life and Accidental Death Insurance   * Development and Career Growth Opportunities   * EAP  REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:   * Mechanical or Technical background is preferred.    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:  * Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from aviation maintenance, A&P, or aerospace technician program. * Willingness to learn, good attention to detail, ability to follow verbal and written instructions, strong work ethic, and basic computer literacy.   PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:  * Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time.  * Frequent bending, stooping, squatting, crouching, kneeling, balancing, and reaching above shoulder level.  * Occasional crawling, climbing, lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling up to 50 lbs. unassisted.  * Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity.  * Corrected vision and hearing to normal range.    EQUIPMENT OPERATED:  * Protective equipment required: Goggles, safety glasses, face shields, ear protection, apron, gloves, safety harness, breathing equipment.    WORKING CONDITIONS:  * The work location will include Test Site at Tucson International Airport.  * Potential hazards include exposure to high intensity noise levels, extreme changes in temperature, electrical charges and radar waves, materials identified on the Safety Data Sheets, and working around moving machinery.    OTHER DUTIES:  * Additional duties may be assigned at the discretion of department management.   * Attend all required safety briefings and training sessions. * Follow all safety protocols, including wearing required PPE and reporting unsafe conditions or hazards immediately. * Participate in Safety Management System (SMS) initiatives and support a culture of continuous safety improvement.   SMS REQUIREMENTS: * Employees are responsible for performing their duties in accordance with company policies and government regulations.
