Description

Job Objectives
To develop, transfer and optimise test set-ups and capabilities developed by NPD test development team aligned to the company’s technology and product roadmap for production, integrating them with in-house pilot or contract manufacturers’ manufacturing capabilities.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop, transfer and optimise test methodologies, set-ups, and testing plans and procedures to characterize the optical, electrical, RF, and thermal performance of optoelectronic devices, including but not limited to transceivers, FP lasers, DFB lasers, gain chips, SLEDs, semiconductor optical amplifiers, electro-absorption modulators/lasers, photonic integrated circuits and their packaged modules, as well as photonic systems such as external cavity lasers, to meet targeted design goals and mass production requirements.
  • Perform test and characterization runs to support the test requirements of New Product Innovation, New Requirement Engineering, Request for Customization, and Product Improvement projects for both pilot and mass production.
  • Work closely with the wafer fab, assembly and packaging, design, and product teams of both in-house and outsourced partners.
  • Analysis of measured test results together with correlation and provide feedback to product and R&D engineers to improve design requirements and simulation results for continual yield improvements to achieve production yield and productivity targets.
  • Generate test reports with measurement results and detailed analyses in a timely manner.
  • Contribute actively to the build-up of test and characterization capabilities for both pilot and mass production manufacturing sites, including maintenance of test set-ups and jigs and calibration of the measurement instrumentation, as well as software control and automation of the set-ups.
